Seatown itself is a small hamlet located around the mouth of the River Winniford and comprises a small number of period thatched cottage and houses.

Village amenities are available at Chideock, about 1 mile away where there are churches, a Post office / General store and Newsagent.

The neighbouring towns of Charmouth, Lyme Regis and the market town of Bridport are both within a short driving distance, whilst the regional centres of Exeter, Dorchester, Weymouth and Yeovil are with easy distance.

At both Lyme Regis and Weymouth there are excellent sailing facilities. At West Bay (this is where the TV programme Harbour Lights is filmed) which is only a 5 minute drive away there is a fishing harbour and slip for small craft. If golf is your passion there is a cliff top golf course close to the harbour. Golf courses are also in Bridport, and Lyme Regis.
